The Ultimate Gelsoft Birthday Bash – A Guest’s Perspective

When Jake invited me to his Gelsoft birthday party at Challenge Accepted, I had no idea what to expect. I’d played video games with blasters before, but this was real—live-action combat, an adrenaline-pumping battlefield, and an entire squad of my best mates ready to take on the challenge.

Arrival & Teaming Up

As soon as we arrived, we knew this was going to be something special. The entire arena was reserved just for us—no other groups, no distractions, just our squad and an epic battlefield waiting to be conquered. The staff welcomed us, checked us in, and handed out our team colors.

We split into two teams of five. I was on Team Shadow with Jake, Ethan, Mia, and Connor, while Team Blaze—our rivals for the day—consisted of Ryan, Alex, Dylan, Sophie, and Max. You could already feel the excitement building as we sized each other up, strategizing in our heads before the first round even began.

Safety Briefing & Facility Tour

Before we could start, we were led into a separate room for a thorough safety briefing. The staff explained how to properly handle our blasters, the importance of wearing our protective gear, and how to use cover to stay safe. They also went over the rules of engagement, fair play, and what to do if anyone was tagged or sent to jail. It was clear they were committed to making sure we had fun while staying safe.

Once we were all briefed and felt comfortable with the rules, it was time for a tour of the facility. The arena was designed like a mix of an industrial and urban battlefield, with stacked crates, tyre stacks, and even a cinema area for stealth tactics. The battlefield was huge, much bigger than we’d initially thought—perfect for running, hiding, and ambushing.

One of the coolest features? A jail. The staff pointed to a gated-off area where eliminated players had to wait until a teammate either rescued them or they were released after a set time. The jail added a whole new layer of strategy to the game, and we started brainstorming how to free our teammates if they got caught.

Oh, and the staff were dressed in full camouflage gear—they looked ready for war! They moved with military precision, guiding us through the rules while maintaining an air of authority. It was impossible not to get caught up in the atmosphere, especially with the staff looking like they were gearing up for the real deal.

With the tour finished and our adrenaline rising, we were ready to get into the action.

Game Briefing & Gearing Up – The Heist

For our first match, we weren’t just shooting it out—we were pulling off a Heist.

One team played the thieves, tasked with breaking into the bank vault, stealing the gold bullion, and getting it back to their getaway zone. The other team? The security force, whose job was to defend the vault and stop the thieves at all costs. To make things even tougher, once a thief was tagged, they were sent to jail, and only a teammate could break them out.

I was on Team Shadow—the thieves. Our strategy? Stealth and speed. We had to move fast, flank the defenders, and get in and out before they could reinforce the vault.

At the gear station, we picked up our blasters and extra ammo. The staff made sure our eye protection was secure and checked that everyone knew how to load and handle their blasters safely. Before heading into battle, we took a few practice shots in the target range. I gripped my blaster, feeling the smooth weight of it in my hands. Loading the ammo, pulling the trigger, and hearing the satisfying whack—it all added to the anticipation. This wasn’t just a game anymore; it was about to feel real.

The Heist Begins!

We lined in Bravo base, adrenaline kicking in as the countdown echoed through the arena.

Three… Two… One… GO!

We split up immediately, with Mia and I sneaking down the side passages while Jake, Ethan, and Connor created a distraction up front. We could hear the defenders shouting to reinforce the vault as shots zipped past us.

As we neared the vault, we found it heavily guarded. We had to act fast. I signaled to Mia—cover me—and jumped forward, firing at the guards while she moved in behind me. Direct hit! One defender was down, and we had an opening.

Connor raced in and grabbed one of the gold bullion, but just as we turned to run—he got tagged! He had to drop the gold and head to jail.

We had a choice: grab the loot or break him out?

Jake made the call—we needed our teammate. He laid down cover fire while I zipped to the jail, dodging shots as I opened the door. Connor bolted out, and together we made our final push. We got hit several times, but each time managing to get out of jail.

With seconds left on the clock, we dashed for the extraction point, diving behind cover as the defenders unleashed everything they had. One last hop—and we made it! The heist was successful. We managed to recover five gold bars, mostly while the defenders were respawning. That’s 5 million dollars!

An Unforgettable Birthday Party

By the time the games wrapped up, we were all buzzing from the adrenaline. We played many more games throughout the day, but this was my most memorable one! Jake’s birthday party had been next-level—way beyond anything we’d done before. This wasn’t just a party; it was an all-out battle, and we were already planning our next one.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable, action-packed birthday party, Challenge Accepted is the place to be.
